A beautifully styled bed is all about the layers. Starting with soft, comfortable essentials and building with texture, subtle color, and thoughtful details creates a bedroom that feels relaxed, collected, and inviting. For this look, we kept the palette light and airy with crisp white, soft ivory, and touches of light blue for a fresh, calming feel.
Start with the Foundation
We began with our Sheena Sheet Set in White/White, made from 100% Rayon made from Bamboo. Silky-smooth with a beautiful drape, the Sheena features a generous 5" flange finished with piping. The white-on-white combination keeps the foundation clean and simple while still adding a beautifully tailored detail around the edge.
Add Soft Color
Next, we layered in the Kelly Duvet in White/French Blue along with the coordinating Kelly King Shams. The soft French blue detailing brings just enough color to the bed while keeping the overall palette calm, fresh, and refined.
We continued that soft blue story with the Malibu Matelassé in Light Blue and the coordinating Malibu Big Pillow. Crafted in Portugal, the Malibu features small, speckled stitching that creates a softly textured surface with a relaxed feel. Woven without batting, its texture comes entirely from the artistry of the weave itself, adding depth and dimension without feeling heavy.
Layer in Texture
In front of the shams, we placed the Luke Body Pillow in Light Blue. At 18" x 60", its elongated shape creates a clean focal point across the bed while the gentle stripes add another subtle pattern to the mix. Made from crisp 100% cotton and finished with shell-button closures, it gives the bed a relaxed, tailored look.
At the foot of the bed, the Murphy Oversized Throw in Ivory adds a plush finishing layer. Its touchable bouclé texture, curly knots and loops, texture-blocking pattern, and tassel details bring warmth and softness to the bed while keeping the overall look casual and modern.
Finish with Decorative Details
To carry the layered look beyond the bed itself, we styled the bench with two decorative pillows in ivory.
The Summit 20" Faux Mohair Pillow adds an exceptionally soft, brushed texture with the luxurious look and feel of mohair, while the Murphy 14" x 24" Pillow repeats the cozy bouclé texture used at the foot of the bed. Together, they help connect the entire room and give the styling a more collected, finished feel.
Bringing It All Together
The finished bed is soft, layered, and full of subtle texture without feeling overly styled. By mixing smooth sheets, crisp cotton, woven matelassé, bouclé, and faux mohair within a simple palette of white, ivory, and light blue, every layer adds something special while still feeling cohesive.
The result is a bedroom that feels fresh, inviting, and beautifully put together from top to bottom.
